In football, Adam was a 3-year varsity letterman on teams that compiled an overall combined record of 32-8. Adam was selected to numerous all-star teams including the first team All-State by the Associated Press, and first team All-State by the Courier Journal as a senior. In addition to all the other all-star teams, he was the recipient of the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Marty Kehoe Player of the Year Award, and named to the prestigious Northern Kentucky Football Coaches Association's Top 22 All-Star Team.

At the time of his graduation, Adam owned the following school records: Career records for Pass Attempts (673), Passes Completed (367), Passing Yards (5,458), and Passing Touchdowns (53); season records for Passing Touchdowns (25), Total Yards (2,650); and game records for Touchdowns (6).

Adam was also a three year letterman in baseball and is currently tied for 10th in career strikeouts, and pitched a no-hitter against Highlands in the Regional Championship game his junior year.
